Updated: Dec 18, 2023

Incorporating all four body systems - mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual - into your daily routine can lead to a more balanced and fulfilling life. It is also makes the stresses of daily life less intense!

Here are recommendations you can start today:

  1. Start Your Day Mindfully: Instead of reaching for your phone to turn on social media begin your day with a few minutes of mindfulness, meditation, or deep breathing. This can help calm your mind, set a positive tone for the day, and connect you with your spiritual and emotional aspects. Ease in, even just 5 minutes can make a huge difference!

  2. Physical Activity: Engage in regular physical exercise. This could be a workout, yoga, stretching, or even a brisk walk. Physical activity not only strengthens your body but also releases endorphins that positively impact your emotions and mental state. It also grounds you into your body and supports your root chakra. Make sure you have a healthy balance of both strength and stretching.

  3. Nutrition: Consume a balanced diet rich in nutrients. Proper nutrition supports your physical well-being, but it also affects your mental clarity and emotional stability. Drink enough water to stay hydrated, which also supports all aspects of your well-being. Another root chakra support.

  4. Mind Stimulation: Dedicate time for mental engagement outside of social media and Netflix. Instead read a book, solve puzzles, engage in a creative hobby, or learn something new. Keeping your mind active helps maintain cognitive health and emotional well-being.

  5. Emotional Check-In: Throughout the day, take moments to check in with your emotions. Practice emotional awareness and allow yourself to feel without judgment. If you're experiencing challenging emotions, consider journaling or talking to someone you trust that can hold proper space for you. Remember emotions are energy in motion and part of the human experience. Try your best to release emotions when you feel safe to do so. Holding onto emotions keeps us stuck and can cause use physical & mental pain.

  6. Mindful Breaks: Take short breaks during the day to practice mindfulness. Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and tune into your present moment. This can help you stay connected with your emotions, thoughts, and the world around you. I like to place on hand on my heart and the other over my belly while taking in these breaths, this calms the nervous system and places you in the present moment.

  7. Connect with Mother Nature: Spend some time outdoors and in nature. Whether it's a walk in the park, gardening, or simply sitting under the sun, nature can have a positive impact on all aspects of your well-being. If I do not have much time I love to go outside and stand barefoot in the grass with my knees slightly bent, imagining each one of my breaths is pulling healing energy up from Mother Earth and when exhaling sending love back down. Nature is the best medicine.

  8. Spiritual Practice: Engage in a spiritual practice that aligns with your beliefs. This could be prayer, meditation, reading spiritual texts, or engaging in rituals that help you connect with your spiritual side. Having a connection to a Higher Power is a crucial part of this journey. There are many belief systems to explore, follow your heart. Ask for guidance if you feel lost and be open to receiving signs.

  9. Social Interaction: Engage in meaningful social interactions. Spend time with friends and loved ones who uplift your spirits, engage in deep conversations, and provide emotional support. If this isn't available, find a community online, soul families exist!

  10. Evening Reflection: Before bed, take a few minutes to reflect on your day. Acknowledge your achievements, express gratitude, and identify areas where you want to improve your self-care practices. Give yourself grace! You are always doing the best you can with what you know. Learning to truly take care of yourself may take some time, so don't give up!

  11. Quality Sleep: Ensure you get enough sleep. Quality sleep is essential for physical restoration, emotional balance, mental clarity, and spiritual well-being. It is okay to set boundaries in your social life so you can achieve a restful night of sleep.

  12. Gratitude Practices: Throughout the day, take some time practice for gratitude. You can practice during various activities like eating, walking, and even working. It can be as simple as I am grateful for this meal, the ability to walk, this temporary job that allows me to buy what I need to survive. Be fully present in each of these moments having gratitude for what you do have can allow you to create even more of what you want.

Remember, finding the right balance may require some experimentation. It is also not necessary to do all of these things everyday. It is learning to listen to what you need.

Everyone's needs and schedules are different. Listen to your body and intuition to adjust these practices according to what works best for you. Over time, integrating these practices into your daily routine can lead to a more harmonious and holistic approach to well-being. You can improve your entire well being by learning to involve all of your body systems into your healing journey.
